What other members see

Your name as you entered it, your ads and their photos, and a phone number only on an ad where you chose to show it. Your email address is never shown.

What we keep

• Your account: name, email, password (stored scrambled, never readable), language and, if you add it, phone and city.
• Your ads, their photos, the messages you send and receive on the site, and the ads you save.
• Sign-in records with a shortened network address, to stop abuse. Reports of ads, to review them.

Photos

Every photo is re-saved when you upload it, which removes the hidden location and camera details phones add.

Location and distance searches

• The language you first see is chosen from the country of your internet address. Nothing about it is stored; your own choice is kept in a cookie.
• “Near me” and “Use my location” ask your phone or browser first. “Use my location” works out the nearest city on your device; “Near me” sends your position rounded to about a kilometre, and it is not saved to your account.
• A street address typed into a distance search is sent to the US Census Bureau’s free address lookup to find it on the map. We keep the point it returns for 90 days so the same search is not sent twice, never the address itself.

The photo assistant

When you use Snap & post, the photos you choose are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, only to write a draft of your ad. The draft is shown to you to edit; nothing is published until you publish it. Photos you do not publish are deleted after 2 days.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers. We send you email only about your account, your ads and replies to them.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your ads at any time. To close your account and delete what it holds, write to us from the contact page.
